"A fine rural village, seated on a dry gravely soil, 3 miles E.S.E. of Lichfield..."
Welcome to the website of Whittington History Society.
This site is dedicated to the people of the village, past and present, who have helped make it what every good village should be - a community.
The Archive has been amassed through the efforts of a small band of enthusiastic members with the help and collaboration of Old Whittonians and their descendants.
Whittington is a very old village. A settlement of some kind has probably existed here since the Roman era, some 2,000 years ago! Read a brief overview of the history of our village here.
